AUTUMN CRAFTS

Some more fall decoratingggg! I saw a post on Pinterest where someone taped dried herbs and flowers to the inside of mason jar lids and placed them in windows. If you do it with smaller flowers you can choose to hot glue the stem to the lid, and then store the jar upside down, so that the flower is standing straight up. I don't think you could do that with these leaves but you could try! Once I get some more jars in different sizes I am going to hang up all different shapes and colors of leaves. You could also do this with pine cones when Christmas comes! Super easy and took me all of 2 minutes. You just have to make sure you offset the tape on the string a little bit, so that the leaf is hanging in the center. 

Another tip I saw online was to dip the leaves in wax to preserve their color. I didn't do that here but they have been hanging for a couple weeks!

THRIFTING TIPS

Crafting supplies are soooooo expensive. A little tip for crafting is search for tools, supplies, and even inspiration at your local thrift stores! And if you have any old folks handy bring them with for 50% senior discounts! Haha now don't think I'm abusing the seniors-my parents probably love thrifting more than I do, so why not go thrifting with them and save an extra few bucks. Even before thrifting was hip my parents have been clothing me with thrift finds since the day I was born. I use to think it was so embarrassing and cheap but now I'm 22 making my own money and realizing the value of thrifting! My awesome finds today were stained glass paints, embroidery threads, buttons, paint, clay, and measuring cups for baking!

Last week I also got this awesome old recipe box with recipes still in it!! And some sweet old mason jars. Can't wait to try out some of these recipes. Especially the stuffed hearts...
